Pivot to cooler conditions in the East dampens store traffic (April 6-12)
Colder-than-last-year (and normal) temperatures slide into the eastern half of the country this week, a flip from warmer conditions last week. From a comp perspective, Planalytics is projecting a negative 9% weather impact for the U.S. overall vs. last year for the auto parts retail and services sector.
Many Eastern markets will see stronger weather impact headwinds (see image below), while only parts of the Rockies and Southwest will see a weather boost compared to the same week last year.
